Karen Vladeck, an experienced attorney turned legal recruiter, has opened her own recruiting agency. Katy Robinette, a former government attorney, has joined her as managing director:
"I went into information-gathering mode, and I kept hearing the same things over and over, which was the best legal recruiters are the ones who really understand the market and really understand the practice of law and also have a real passion for connecting people," Vladeck said. "I think that was what really resonated with me because Katy and I both have that personality trait."

"I don't think that I would have, at least not now, done it with anyone else," Robinette said. "I respect Karen so much. She's smart. She's really committed to doing a good job, and I love working with people like that and for people like that. It matters a lot ot me that she's a woman that I could support in starting her own thing."
